Thought I would snap some pics in the fitting room since I found myself at a J.Crew store yesterday. Here's what I grabbed to try on:

My body type does not lend itself well to peasant-like tops such as this. I feel like blous-y tops should be worn with skinny bottoms, which is something I cannot do, and if I wear them with regular bottoms, I end up looking top-heavy. This was certainly true of this top. I grabbed a size 4, and it was comfortable yet ran a little large. However, I just don't think I could make this look work even by sizing down. Beautiful print though; I liked it more than I expected to. This will be really cute paired with white skinny jeans!

I actually have the navy version on its way to me as I type (should be here Monday) but nonetheless I was excited to try it on in-store in the grey version. What a precious top. While it's called the silk collar TEE, the material is thicker than a tee. It's more like a sweatshirt. I loved this top; it fits TTS and feels very high-quality. I'm looking forward to the navy one arriving. I feel like I will get a lot of wear out of it!

I was really intrigued by this one online, but hesitated purchasing it with my 20% off promo because the color and material were hard to figure out on my computer screen. This is one you'll just have to see in person to really appreciate. I love this cardigan. The material is gauzy but not really see-through or thin at all. I love the texture. The colors of this particular one are gorgeous...tan and a yummy mint* with navy borders. This cardigan was on promo for $59.50 - 20% so I ended up taking it home with me. This will look so cute paired with a navy skirt! My usual size small fit great. This cardigan is a "shrunken" fit but the material is somewhat stretchy.
*To better describe the minty color in this cardigan...I was wearing the vintage cotton tank in sweet mint underneath and in the subsequent pictures. However, that color did not exactly match up to the mint in this cardigan--it was more green. I ended up purchasing the perfect-fit tank in clear water to go with it, which was a much better match.

I have bought, returned, and then pined for a pop-back of several different navy eyelet skirts over the years, and so you'd think that with this recent iteration, I would jump all over it and buy it full-price. Nope. I absolutely LOVED this skirt--it is gorgeous and very high-quality--but it is just so hard for me to buy an eyelet skirt at FP when it's snowing outside. I've been burned by this mindset in the past because I think, "oh, I'll just wait until it goes on sale when the weather is warmer" and that doesn't happen. It'll sell out completely and never pop-back in my size, or just never make it to sale. Fingers crossed that THIS year will be the year I finally snag my navy eyelet skirt...in the spring...for a decent price. Re: fit...tried on my usual 4. It was actually a bit loose around my waist, but I'm not sure that I would want to size down.

I tend to wear mostly dresses and skirts and actually don't own ANY pairs of capri pants. You see why in the pics above. They just don't suit me. These were okay (the polka dots help) but I still would not buy them for myself. Standing on my toes didn't even help much with the look. I'll stick with skirts. My usual size 4 fit fine if a bit loose, for sizing purposes.

I tried on and passed on the winter version of this dress a few months ago. I liked this version slightly better, but it was probably the color that helped sway me. This dress fits very much the same as the other dress. It does pull across the mid-section, so if your tummy is a problem area (like mine) this probably isn't the dress for you. With that said, the material of this dress is more forgiving than say a thin jersey dress might be. For me, it's not a winner. Great color, though.
That's it! What do you think of these new arrivals?

The silk collared tee is super cute on you!
Just bought the silk collar tee in gray and the pinwheel eyelet skirt in navy to wear together. The quality is amazing on the skirt. The tee is expensive, but I'm planning on wearing it with skinny black pants and a cardigan. It will also look great with a full skirt and flats. I love that it has bust darts for a slim fit.
I agree that the tee is high-quality. I know I will wear it a lot so hopefully I will get my $ worth! Now I want the gray tee AND the eyelet skirt so I can copy your outfit idea...cute!!!
Thanks!
